CHECKLISTS

Regardless of how you keep things on track, it’s important that you do it in order and checklists come in handy.

A budget checklist ensures your wedding expenses are all accounted for. Identify how much you can spend, then include an additional 10% for an emergency fund. You will than have a little extra put aside for those unforeseen expenses that can pop up in spite of careful planning.

A guest checklist will help you keep track of important contact information, guest responses, and thank-you notes. Keep any special information or notes on your guests' allergies, preferences or special needs.

A booking list should include everything you should book, usually one year before the big day. The details will vary according to your own ideas and personal preferences, but basically it would include booking: a photographer and video maker, wedding cars and any other transport hire, a professional staff for your reception with musicians and any other entertainers, a florist, the honeymoon, the wedding cake, invitations from a printer, hairdressing and beauty salon appointments.

And finally, a general checklist will help you keep track of all the things you have to decide, which include setting the number of guests, choosing the bridesmaids or best man, selecting your wedding outfits and wedding rings, and so on… Add on your checklists the date you expect each task to be completed by and the date it’s completed, and all you have to do now is make it happen!
